Recently, Shopify added a huge partner that will help you achieve your eCom goals without adding on any additional marketing requirements. It’s Shopify + eBay and it is going to be super, super huge! What’s even better, it basically will require very little work on your end to get started. This shouldn’t at all surprise you though! If you’ve been working with Shopify for any period of time, you have come to understand how powerful the platform is, how great the support is, how many integrations are available (like the new eBay integration that we’re talking about here), how many great themes are out there, etc… all while still being incredibly user friendly, easy to use, and intuitive. It’s like the iOS operating system for eCommerce – everything just works as you envision it to work. That is a massive headache saver right there!

Back to the new eBay integration…

When you make the connection from Shopify to eBay, you get to immediately and automatically connect your products, sync every single one of your eBay ordered items, and most importantly, in one main dashboard, consistently increase your sales volume, revenue, and profit.

As of right now, the Shopify to eBay integration is only available (at least currently) for US only eBay sales but rest assured, other parts of eBay like eBay Motors and other geographic locations will be added to the mix in the upcoming months.

Here’s what you can do when you sell with Shopify and eBay:

  • Consolidate your inventory and order management fluidly between Shopify and eBay
  • Grow your brand footprint on eBay’s global marketplaces
  • Manage your eBay business policies from inside Shopify
  • Communicate with customers using built-in eBay messaging
  • Increase your selling velocity
  • Showcase your products to more than 171 million buyers on the web and mobile

Once you’re inside the app, you’ll see the eBay channel activated inside of Shopify. There are a few key sections in there that you’ll want to focus on. This is all inside of your existing Shopify Admin Dashboard so you don’t have to do anything else to get this going except for installing the app in the site you want to enable the Shopify to eBay integration. You’ll see all of your eBay Published Products in the “Published products” section of your admin. Next to that, you’ll see any of the failed to publish products in the “failed to publish” section. Be sure to check here if you have not seen the product get pushed from Shopify to eBay via the integration. This is your first troubleshooting step for sure. There is also great support available via chat and phone with Shopify, of course

Your products that are ready to be pushed from Shopify to eBay will be in the “Ready to publish” section. You can review your items and edit the title on this page. You can also, at quick glance, check the number of variants that are available for each product, per row, in the “Ready to publish” section as well as the price for the item. Bulk actions are also available by clicking on the checkboxes next to the products you wish to edit. In bulk, you can edit things like the shipping policy, return policy, and even the payment policy all in one click. Again, this is inside the same “Ready to publish” section.

Editing a listing is super easy as well. On the eBay Edit Listing Page inside of your Shopify Admin Dashboard, you’ll have all the options and inputs needed to successfully push your Shopify product to eBay via the integration. Here, you’ll be able to select either the exact same product title that you use in Shopify or create a custom eBay title that is better suited for the search based nature of eBay. This is highly recommended by the way! Just like any eBay product, you’ll need to select the primary category for the product to be placed inside of eBay.com. Examples includes Toys and Games, Memorabilia, Clothing, Shoes, and Accessories, and many more. There will be relevant sub options based on the category that you choose. Be sure to take great care in the detail of these inputs as these will automatically be sent over to eBay to form your eBay listing and product via the Shopify to eBay integration.

When you’re ready to go, save and publish your product. You’ll see it inside your eBay account and guess what?! It’s going to look exactly like any other eBay product out there. And that’s the whole point here. We want to have the power of Shopify’s Admin Dashboard, apps, and ecosystem with the traffic and buyers of eBay – and that is exactly what happens with the Shopify to Ebay integration and app available at http://shopify.com/cener.

Here’s some of the highlights of the program, according to Shopify:

More Sales with less effort. This is an obvious one and the entire reason why we want to use eBay as a sales channel. There are tons and tons and tons of buyers on Ebay and they love using the platform. When users love something, it means they are that much more likely to take their credit cards out of their wallets and become a paying customer – your new paying customer! If you want to attract new customers without running paid ads, this is another reason why you should setup the Shopify to eBay integration as soon as humanly possible. List your products on eBay and manage orders, without ever leaving Shopify – a massive benefit considering the time it would take to go across both platforms. The new Shopify to eBay integration is so deeply connected, you won’t even have to leave your Shopify Admin Dashboard (and that is always a great thing).

Real time sales management. Forget about Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets spreadsheets. Databases will not be required either. You get to track everything inside of your real time Shopify analytics dashboard. This means sales, clicks, questions, support concerns, image management, video management, description management, changing product titles, adding new images, changing search engine optimization options, etc., etc. will all be available to you at a single click. This is again the power of Shopify – they make everything super easy and super accessible all in one place. Shopify seamlessly connects to eBay, updating product inventory, descriptions, images, and pricing in real time. That is just simply amazing!

Find new customers. This is huge because you’re going to find customers on eBay who you just could not or would not have reached in the past on the Facebook Advertising Self Serve Platform. More customers and unique customers at that makes the Shopify to eBay integration worth it just for this one point alone. Finding new customers is always a huge challenge to any business owner, but it is also one challenge that can never be ignored and can never be stopped.

There are 171 Million buyers on eBay and now you can reach them all with the Shopify to eBay integration that is available right now inside your Shopify store admin user backend.

According to Statista, the statistics portal that covers statistics and studies from more than 18,000 different unique and trustworthy accredited sources, put the number at 168 million active users for the first three quarters of the 2017 fiscal year. That is 168 million new people that can potentially become your customer. Here’s some more data about the eBay platform, making it super clear and obvious that the Shopify to eBay integration is something you need to take seriously as soon as humanly possible.

“During March 2017, the most popular retail sites in the United States were measured by number of unique monthly visitors. The resulting ranking revealed that Amazon Sites were the most popular with 183 million users per month during the third quarter. eBay, however, was Amazon’s nearest rival with an estimated 96 million unique monthly visitors. eBay’s number of visitors made it more popular than other online retailers including Wal-Mart, Etsy.com and Apple.com sites. eBay is also one of the most popular mobile shopping apps in the United States with a 14 percent audience reach as of February 2017. eBay, which launched in 1995, offers a range of goods and services to both sellers and buyers who can select between an online auction service or a buy now option. From 2000 to 2016, the American Customer Service Index has recorded the level of customer satisfaction with eBay. ASCI scores are calculated on a 100-point scale and during the stated time period, eBay’s ASCI score has remained consistently high. During that time, eBay’s lowest customer satisfaction score was in 2015 with 75 index points. On the other hand, 2004 saw eBay achieve its highest score with 84 index points.”

It’s pretty obvious what the big benefits are here. More customers. More diverse customers. New customers. Tons of traffic and eyeballs on your products, without adding onto your existing marketing bill. This is different than ads in that the customers are already at eBay – you don’t need to find them. They just need to be able to find your products.

Inside my Cener Shopify Mastermind Group on Facebook (check it out here), the reactions have been nothing but super positive to this new Shopify to eBay integration!

Marcus O commented, “Pretty cool. I did client work for eBay and know just how powerful their site is. If you can get in front of eBay’s customers, you can really scale your business to the moon. There are just so so so so many customers on eBay its pretty amazing. Great move by Shopify.”

Chris L added his thoughts by saying, “Yeah, I’m going to do this for sure. The shipping times are what you need to be careful of. If you’re using Print on Demand like CustomCat or similar, you should be fine since they ship so quickly. Either way, very much looking forward to accessing eBay’s huge, passionate, and money spending customer base.”

Zak S, a top Shopify seller inside my mastermind group, added his comments: “Utilise this tool if you’re doing anything online right now. Shopify is already the best ecom platform, now to combine them with eBay which has tons and tons and tons of customers makes this a true no brainer for anyone looking to make more money online. I’ll be using this tool aggressively as soon as possible. Great move here by two great companies.”

There’s actually an even bigger hidden benefit that one of the members of my private coaching mastermind uncovered after implementing the Shopify to eBay integration and that is all about seller limits. First off, what is a seller limit on eBay? It’s something every single seller must become aware of and more importantly, a challenge that every seller must take on (the challenge is always raising the seller limit).

Here’s how eBay defines Account Limits:

“You have a limit on sold items, gross merchandise volume, and active items for sale. If an item sells, it counts toward the limit, but if a listing ends without any sold items, it no longer counts toward the limit.

You may be able to request a higher account limit by confirming your information, linking your new account to an established account, or contacting us. When you reach a selling limit, we give you the option to request an increase to the amount you can list. We may also evaluate your selling activity on a monthly basis and grant a new limit on your account if you qualify.

Important: If you exceed the maximum amount you can list in a month, reduce the number of active listings you have on eBay to bring the number within your limit. We may end any listings that place you over your current limit. Good ‘Til Cancelled listings count toward your selling limits, and won’t renew automatically if you’ve reached the maximum amount that you can list.

To learn more about opportunities to examine your selling practices and focus on improving performance, review our seller performance standards.”

This is obviously a downer for many sellers – who would want to have limits on how much you can sell?! I certainly don’t want that! Of course, there are never any limits with Shopify.

Ricky Nelson, a power seller in my group, added this massive finding after implementing the Shopify to eBay integration by saying, “I added the channel to my Shopify Store and EBay immediately increased my selling limits from 200 to 500,000! I upload maybe two or three items every other day. Not even at top rated seller. The process on Shopify to add eBay channel has a few steps which asked about how many products you sell Etc but as soon as it was approved I got an email from eBay saying I went from 200 slots to 500000 and my amount to spend was $800,000. My initial thought was they assume Shopify seller have websites with mini mini item so they just go ahead and give them a lot of slots.”

That is MASSIVE! You can literally increase your seller limits astronomically just by implementing the Shopify to eBay integration. That alone should make you want to jump into using Shopify to eBay as soon as humanly possible.

Currently, the only ways to increase your eBay seller limits
